Job Summary
Dillard Hospitality Group is seeking a BAR MANAGER to work at one of Dillard Hospitality Group’s facilities in the metro Atlanta, GA area.
Responsibilities and Duties
- The Bar Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the high volume restaurant and lounge, including coordinating the activities of the employees engaged in the operations of the establishment, ensuring profitability, and generating positive patron experiences.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the restaurant/lounge which will include food service, bar, and other operational departments.
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise entire staff; front and back of the house, along with other operational departments.
- Conduct inventory management, monitoring sales, and ordering products and supplies as needed.
- Build, maintain, and constantly improve a food and beverage menu that has strong local appeal.
- Meet targets for cost of goods, payroll, and other operating expenses as determined by Company budgets.
- Ensure that Company-standard pouring measures are being followed and oversee proper accounting and recording of all beverage sales.
- Aggressively manage waste and discounts following Company policy.
- Inspect establishment and observe workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational and safety standards, food handling requirements, and local alcohol regulations. Ensure all servers are in compliance with local certification mandates.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, presentation, and quality in bar’s food menu.
- Liaise with Owner/and other corporate personnel to execute and supervise special events.
- Actively work to retain and attract new guests, meeting and exceeding sales goals determined by Company budgets.
- Ensure high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Work several shifts per week.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of bar management experience in a bar/restaurant environment
- 3 years experience working in a fast-paced lounge or club
- 3-5 years staff leadership/management experience
- Must have experience with scheduling, inventory management, and ordering supplies
- Must have knowledge of local liquor laws and regulations.
- ServSafe certification
- Experience with P&L reports, ordering kitchen inventory in a high volume restaurant.
- Bar manger is responsible for overseeing all of the above
- Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day
- High level of professionalism
- Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Comfortable working in a high very high volume establishment
- Comfortable working with affluent and influential clientele.
- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis
Education
- High school diploma, GED required, or equivalent (preferred)
